When it comes to Lenders in St Augustine I have only one suggestion

Branch Banking and Trust Company aka BB and T.

Here is why, within 24 hours of requesting a $300,000.00 loan for a new construction project I had a call back from "BB and T" and an approval for the loan. From there out I did not have to make one phone call to badger them for a closing date, information on the loan or anything else for that matter. From beginning to end the process was very smooth, professional and I was kept in the progress loop the whole time.

On the other hand, a local and well established bank jerked me along for two months on the refinancing of my house, making countless excuses blaming other underwriters for the problems and never once calling us until it became apparent that we were getting ready to take our business elsewhere. There were no big hang ups, missing paper work or anything else on our part that slowed up the process. But a real lack of professionalism and poor management on the lenders part. A word to the wise, don't ignore your customers when your snowed under or incompetent, calling them at least makes them think your interested and engaged.

These guys are lucky that I don't post the whole story and their names here. You can bet that I'm tempted to.
